Beginner Obedience:

This class is for puppies who are at least 6 months of age or have completed Beginners Obedience. Class will begin to focus on more advanced Obedience skills. Skills to be covered in this class: heeling, longer stays, sits & downs. This is a good class for adult dogs who have never been in class before. Class may be split between puppies and adult dogs if enrollment is large enough. 

Obedience Classes with Marilou McCloskey

Open & Utility Competition Obedience Classes: $30.00

Skills covered in the above two classes will include exercises needed for both Open & Utility. These classes are designed for the owner who wishes to continue to the next level of Obedience competition. These classes will focus on teaching the dog and handler the skills needed for an AKC Companion Dog Excellent Title. (CDX & UD) Skills covered: more formal off leash heeling, Dumbbell Retrieves, Broad Jump, High Jump and Drop on Recalls will be covered. This course will also focus on teaching the dog and handler the skills needed for an AKC Utility Dog Title. (UD) Skills introduced at this level: Scent Articles, Signal Exercises, Directed Jumping, Go Outs and the Moving Stand.

This class is designed for the owner who wishes to continue more formal training and show their dog in Obedience competition. This course will focus on teaching the dog and handler the skills needed for an AKC Companion Dog Title. (CD) Skills covered: Formal heeling on and off leash, formal recalls to front, (finish) return to heel from front, stand stays for exam, heeling figure eights and group stays. 

Obedience Classes with Karen Scheiner

Novice/Open Obedience Classes: 6 Weeks $180.00 Instructor: Karen Scheiner

This class is for the owner wanting to show in obedience competition, or an owner who just wants a better trained dog for agility performance. Class will include learning skills for keeping attention, entering the ring, heeling and all other exercises needed to earn an AKC Companion Dog (CD) Title.  Open exercises will be introduced.  Fun exercises and games are the key to success. This is not a beginner class, as dogs should have had some training (either obedience or agility). Bring toys and treats to first class.
